Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Tinsley entered family practice in 1973 at Lucy Lee Medical Center. He currently practices at Tinsley Medical Clinic and Ozark Foothills Industrial Medicine. Dr. Tinsley is devoted to family medicine and seeks to give every patient a personal medical home to meet their comprehensive medical needs.
Dr. Tinsley received his Medical Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri Medical School in Colombia, Missouri. He graduated as president of his senior class. He was also a member of the Missouri Tigers 1966 Sugar Bowl team. He went on to complete his Post Graduate Medical training at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota before returning to Missouri in 1973.
Having served as preceptor of many medical students rotating through Poplar Bluff, Dr. Tinsley was honored as a member of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine in 1986 and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
Dr. Tinsley has held many positions over the years at Lucy Lee / Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center including Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Staff multiples times. He has over 20 years of experience in rehabilitation and is currently the director of a 20 bed inpatient Rehab Unit for Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Tinsley is in close collaboration with his two Nurse Practitioners, Amy Shell and Sara Brown. They have open communication regarding the treatment of our patients. Both Nurse Practitioners believe in a friendly, interactive way of making our patients feel comfortable while still answering their important medical questions. The secret to patient-centered care, it's taking the time required to meet the patient's health care needs. Amy and Sara are available to our patients Monday through Friday.
He and his wife Bobbie have been married for more than 50 years. They have 6 children, three sons and three daughters with 18 grandchildren. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time and traveling with his family.
